The other teams will play the Consolation Swiss (5x8). Transnational teams are allowed but we (and previous years have proven this to be true) intend this event to be taken serious.

Pro-Am Patton Tournament
Including some pro-am pairings and the participation of coaches, captains, officials and guests. At last the juniors may exceed themselves in the matchpointed pairs. Of course I hope that everybody will play but I also understand you prefer a visit of Amsterdam.

How to go from Stayokay to the Witte Huis

 

Take the tram – stamp 3 strips for the whole trip(tram tickets for sale at the hotel reception) - in front of Stayokay and get out at stop ‘MUNT” (approx 5 minutes) . There you take tram 16 and go (approx 20 minutes) to stop ‘IJSBAANPAD’(this is one stop after the Olympic Stadium).  Walk in the IJSBAANPAD and after 150 meter on your left hand you see the ‘Witte Huis’.

 

Home rules of the ‘Witte Huis’.

 

1: LUNCH. The people in Stayokay get a take-away lunch from the hotel. Please put those in the wardrobe of the Witte Huis and not in the playing are

2: WATER AND DRINKS. Free mineral water in the containers. Every participant receives three tickets for (soft)drinks a day. At the captains meeting on Monday the npc or playing captain will receive the tickets for all week. (please try to avoid bringing drinks from outside the ‘Witte Huis’)

 

3: SMOKING. This is a non smoking event. Smoking is allowed outside.

 

4: DINNER. If there are any vegetarians amongst you, please tell it to the kitchen.

 

Technical rules and regulations

 

1: BRIDGEMATE. if you have any problems with the bridgemates, please call the director and don’t try to fix it yourself.

 

2: LINE UP. There is no line-up before the match but please fill in the line up form lying at your table in order to produce a correct Butler-result

 

3: MOBILE PHONES. Switch of the mobile phones during the match

 

4: DECISIONS MADE BY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS ARE FINAL, there is no appeal possible. Hans van Staveren and Frank Versloot will consult captains and coaches and then take a decision.

 

5: TIEBREAKER. In case of tiebreak in round robin 1) match between the two teams 2) total plus imps 3) throw of the dice. In case of a draw in semi-final or final: two extra boards, then two more and finally the dice.

 

6: BROWN STICKER CONVENTION. If a pair uses a brown sticker convention, please inform your opponents at the beginning of the match

 

7: COMPARING RESULTS. If you finish a match early, please compare scores outside or very quietly; in every match the same boards are played.

 

8. RESULTS. If you object a result in a match, please report it to the tournament director and he will check it with the other team.

 

9.BBO. Every session one match will be broadcasted at BBO

Other things

 

1: DAILY BULLETIN. Please report remarkable plays or bids by yourself, your partner and team mates or opponents to MEIKE WORTEL, the website manager for this event. There will be a daily bulletin posted on the wall. You can mark your vote for the best hand of the tournament. The bulletin is also published on the internet: www.jeugdbridge.nl

 

2: FORUM AT JEUGBRIDGE.NL. At jeugdbridge.nl there is a forum (in the left or top menu), so every fan of you can send their favourite team a message, you can write things for your fans at home or keep in touch with the other players at the white house.

 

3: BRILLIANCY PRIZE. The bulletin editors are very happy when you write an interesting story yourself and of course a spectacular hand will be chosen for the best played of 2009.

 

4: PUBLICATIONS. If after the tournament in your country there are publications about this event, we are very glad to receive a copy.

 

5: PROAM. At Saturday a couple of sponsors are playing in the closing Patton. Some juniors may be asked to play with them.
